20th July 2013
Kite surfing: Ynyslas estuary
Wind Direction: E
Wind Stength: 18-25 knots
Surf / Sea State: flat
Air Temperature: hot!
Sea Temperature: warm
Weather: sun
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

Bit of a shock to be woken by the alarm at 5:30 on a weekend, but outside the estuary was at its best. Sun just rising over the hills, a lot of low clouds hugging the peaks that was flowing down into the valley and deep blue sky everywhere.

Pumped up the 12m to the sound of Shem snoring in the next van, hardly a soul about. Went out a bit overpowered, but smooth wind, warm water and just one windsurfer for company. There followed an excellent session, perhaps the best ever in the estuary, cruising around in the most beautiful surroundings, catching some serious air and lots of powered but lazy tricks.

After an hour or so was joined by Shem, then a couple of other kites. Got some mental speed runs in the flat water in the lee of the sandbanks. Stayed out for a couple of hours, coming off at 9:00 for breakfast, before a day of extreme lounging.

If there was a 6 star rating this would by it!

Could have been the same on Sunday, but sadly a late night in the Vic and a delicate head stopped play :(
